Account Verification (KYB/KYC)

OpenNode is available to registered businesses only. This article covers what you'll need to submit, how the process works, and what to expect after.

KYB Requirements

One document, which can be a photo or unedited document upload.

Examples include:

  • Certificate of incorporation;

  • recent excerpt from a state company registry;

  • certificate of incumbency;

  • memorandum/articles of incorporation/association/registration;

  • another similar document

Proof of ownership

One document, which can be a photo or unedited document upload, which establishes all control persons of the company if there is more than one owner or the applicant does not own over 25% of the company.*


Examples include:

  • shareholder registry;

  • statement of information;

  • recent excerpt from a state company registry;

  • certificate of incumbency;

  • memorandum/articles of incorporation/association/registration;

  • trust agreement;

  • another similar document 

Proof of address

One document, which can be a photo or unedited document upload and must contain full name of the business.

Examples include:

  • Utility statement; (must be within 3 months)

  • Bank statement; (must be within 3 months)

  • Internet / Cable TV / House Phone Line bill; (must be within 3 months)

  • Tax returns; (most recent fiscal year)

  • Council tax bill; (must be within 3 months)

  • Government issued Certificate of Residency

  • SS-4 IRS document

KYC for UBOs or Control Persons

Businesses must submit the above KYC data for either i. UBO’s with over 25% ownership in the company or ii. Control person for the account if UBO’s fall under the ownership threshold
